The Dodgers miss out on Lincecum. Lucky bastards!

Tim Lincecum has given up 1ER in 25 IP in the PCL. The Dodgers are lucky they are catching the Giants before they bring him up.

Lowry, Cain, Zito, Lincecum might make the Giants an Angels-esque team. Great pitching with a horrible lineup + 1 star.

so when do you think they should start batting furcal 8'th? Pierre is obviously the superior player for average right now. Hitting in the .220's for a month solid is unacceptable for a leadoff hitter. Heck, even Pierre is hitting in the .280's. I just don't see how Furcal gets such a pass for so long yet Pierre gets no chance after only a month into the season.

Maybe you should make a post regarding that.

My impression of your friend D4P tonight...

'Whaaaaaaaah, the dodgers are scoring runs and winning!....Whaaaaaah! My infallible spreadsheets predicted they would not score so many runs because no one hits for mad powerz....whaaaaah! Pierre had a good game!....Whaaaaah!

I'm going to go offline and jerk off onto one of my spreadsheets to my life size posters of Hee-Seop Choi and Paul DePodesta....Whaaah!

D4P Post - With his Dodger Thoughts added in Italics

So, I've commented a few times on the seemingly bizarre and unlikely means by which the Dodgers have reached base and scored runs this season
I totally hate it when people do things that aren't statistically likely .
It has been a comedy of errors, as well as CIs, FCs, BBs to pitchers, bunts, bloopers, bleeders, dinkers, dunkers, flinkers, and flunkers. I only like to win by mad powerz and uber .slg and ops+ this team don't have it so I like it when they lose. I keep waiting for it to reach its presumably inevitable end, but it won't. I just can't admit I am wrong...I'll pretend to a little later but not really

Why won't it end? I'll tell you: MAGIC. The balls didn't fall my way, so I'm going to indirectly curse God. That's right, magic is responsible. Magic is that which occurs when you assemble a team full of Veterans, Character Guys, Heart and Souls, Guys Who Know How To Win, etc.

I'm going to take a little time to curse the GM that I think I know more than because I hate that he improbably achieved sucess without mad powerz and ops+ players.

This is exactly what Ned had in mind when he put the roster together, and while some of us may have scoffed, he apparently knew what he was doing.

I'm going to insult the GM some more by implying he purposely chose to put together a team with sub-standard talent that had the aforementioned magic.

So to Ned, I offer my apologizes. You were right, and I was wrong.

I'm now backhandedly complimenting the G.M. while sarcastically apologizing that my simulations, tireless masterful uber-analyzations of mad statses failed to forecast the ACTUAL results of a season, which aren't hidden anywhere in any numbers until after they actually happen...I'm going back to jerk off to a spreadsheet now and won't come back to post until the Dodgers lose embarrasingly and I can come back and say 'I TOLD YOU SO...MY SPWEDSHEETS N CWACKS HAVE MAD SKILLS!!! D-DOGS LOOOSE!!!! THEY SUXXORS!!!

54 I'm sure BP did their homework with regards to adjusted runs. I have confidence it's not something that they're just making up.

...whaaa? Oh, since it is BP we don't need to check their work? That is so... nevermind. Wasn't the sabremetric movement founded on a principle of not making assumptions about anything statistically?

Do your work before blindly standing behind something that fits the preconceived conclusions in your tinky-winky little bwain.

It's pretty amusing how some DT'ers like you think just because you've posted at DT for a certain period of time you get a license to be an ass over and over again on DodgerThoughts. He was pretty pissed yet people didn't get the clue...because you can't get over something simple like a few players out of a 40 man roster that you dislike. My advice to posters like you would be to just let it go. You'll enjoy victory a lot more and be a heck of a lot more gracious in defeat.

Peace.
